WSUS generator

How do we know if WSUS generator is downloading all available updates? Issue I'm seeing, I run WSUS generator, x64 for WIN7, then run the client installer until I finally receive no more updates.
After doing this, my PCs that have not been receiving updates the normal Microsoft method, all of a sudden works which is great. But then Windows updates says I may have any where from 30-40 more updates to install.
This is my question then, how or why isn't WSUS generator not pulling all available updates from Microsoft download? Why does the normal Windows update then discover MORE updates?

WSUSOU does cover only security-related updates. Barring a few exceptions, it doesn't contain any feature-updates or optional ones.

if you are comfortable in adding new updates to WOU then please see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4182 for a list of updates not normally downloaded and installed by WOU.

hopefully the 40 you said that WU states it needs should reduce.
