I would like to clarify a bit about WSUS Offline Update, as I never encountered WSUS before.
As I understand, WSUS is a combination of software and services by Microsoft to distribute updates to large organizations more efficiently, and WSUS Offline Update is an alternate software that downloads these updates from Microsoft servers, is this right?

I would like to make an ISO image of installation media for Windows XP with all available updates, will WSUS Offline Update make it for me? Will the ability to do this go away on April, 8?

wsusou is a software, which downloads the most important security updates into a local update repository, so you are able to update computers without internet access.

But remember: WSUS (MS) != wsusou

Yes, the updates are downloaded from Microsoft's servers. There are some static definitions (.\static), but the most updates are determined dynamically usings Microsofts catalog file wsusscn2.cab.

Yes, you are able to create an ISO for Windows XP and use it after April, 8, but rememeber, that wsusou 9.1 is supposed to be the last version supporting Windows XP.
.\doc\history.txt wrote:- NOTE: This version will be the last one supporting Windows XP and Office 2003 (see http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=3223 and http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=2488)

So, it won't make me an ISO that I can install Windows from, or will it?
