Office XP Support

We noticed that Office XP Support is dropped in version 7.0. If we upgrade to 7.0 does this mean that our computers that are still using Office XP without all the latest updates will no longer update? We are still about 5000 machines behind in getting all updates for Windows XP and Office XP. We have been using this software to get updates to our machines that do not have internet connections or are not on the network all the time. We hope you will keep support for off line updates for Office XP until everyone can get off this version of Office.

We hope that you will still support updates for Office XP until every computer can be completely updated. Our hopes are that in 24 months we can start moving to Windows 7 and Office 2010 which will be no issue for this software but that is a long time to do without updates for our machines that still use Office XP, many that do not see our network for update but once every 6 months or once a year, so they are not completely updated Office XP service packs or patches.

Thanks for considering keeping support for Office XP. -WS

Better stick to version 6.9 then or use version 7 just for Windows, newer office and office compatibility pack but keep a 6.9 version just for officeXP. As OfficeXP does not get updates anymore, there's no need to search for newer update files for this customized 6.9 version.

Does staying with 6.9 mean we are not missing patches to the software that fix bugs etc.?

I would hate that there is some performance update in say future version 7.3 and we cannot use it because the support for Office XP is gone. Again we would hope that you would keep the support in your software making it the most flexible and best software out there.

Thanks -WS

You may miss some statically defined patches or bugfixed to the WOU software. That's why I suggested to keep a 6.9 version just for OfficeXP-Updates and use the most recent version for all other updates.

Well, I just keep an ISO image containing the updates for a deprecated platform.
It won't be updated anyway, so why don't freeze it?
