September 18 2012 Server downloads wrong .Net patches

Hello, it appears that the Sep 18 updates for server 2012 (original) download the wrong .Net patches.

It should get 4457037 (4.5 Qual), 4457033 (4.6 Qual) and 4457029 (4.5 sec),4457025 (4.6 sec).

Instead it downloads 4457027 (W2K8 4.6 Sec), 4457030 (W2K8 4.5 Sec), 4457035 (W2K8 4.6 Qual) and 4457038 (W2K8 4.5 Qual).

There is clearly a confusion between the W2K12 and W2K8 .Net patches.

It isn't within the client static folder as these appear to be correct.

Can you please investigate?

Thank you in advance
Robert Bronca

Hi Robert,

I don't know how you get them.
As you said, the statics are correct.
Microsoft...

As far as I can see in a test copy (wsusou 11.5, just w2k12 selected), I get both (w2k8 and w2k12 ones).

Code: Select all

Most likely caused by the fact, that .NET is handled as OS component in Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012 and newer.

Thank you for checking. We can add it to the long list of things that Microsoft has annoyed us with in recent times. :)
