Some problem and upload error (IE8,9 not RU)

Postby Serg007 » 10.11.2012, 11:22

Good day. I have some problem.
1. I selected the program options to upload updates ENG and RU. But upload Eng and DEU (
viz. IE8 - DEU and IE9 - DEU). This bug has already been pulled a long time ago (and in last version too).
2. Сonstantly I have error (Error: Download failure for w60 glb, wget: unable to resolve host address `download.windowsupdate.com', Error: File integrity verification failure). I am delete content from folder \client\md, but it does not help. And repeet Start upload more than 10 times.

at problem 1:
Please see ...\doc\faq-enu.txt:
Q: I miss IEx, .NET and MSSE installation files for my language. Why aren't they downloaded and what can I do to have them downloaded?
A: Since Service Packs and updates for Windows Vista / 7 / Server 2008(R2) are multilingual, there's no 24-language selection table for these platforms, so by default, only the English and German versions of those localized installation packages for IEx, .NET and MSSE will be downloaded.
To have your favorite locale(s) downloaded in addition, you may use the ...\cmd\AddCustomLanguageSupport.cmd script.
This also applies to Windows XP for .NET and MSSE :!:

Run the following command (from your WSUSOU directory) once and start again UpdateGenerator.exe:
Code: Select all
.\cmd\AddCustomLanguageSupport rus

Delete the files ...\client\md\hashes-dot*.txt and ...\client\md\hashes-msse.txt before running UpdateGenarator.exe again, if it was started already today (because of "same day rule")!

1. Like harry told you it's not a bug, but an oddity in how Microsoft handles its updates. This does make it impossible to automatically determine the language in certain cases. As the main audience for WSUSOU are German and English users, that's what is downloaded by default. If you follow harry's advice you can change that.

2. The error ''wget: unable to resolve host address `download.windowsupdate.com´'' indicates DNS problems on your system, the URL cannot be properly resolved into an IP. The other errors probably are related. What DNS servers you use for your Internet connection?

Could you run the cmd and try the following commands to find out the problem you have:

Code: Select all
ping download.windowsupdate.com
pathping download.windowsupdate.com

post the output.

Additionally you can try to open one link pointing to that server in Internet Explorer. Maybe it provides a helpful error message.

If it doesn't help try to connect the server from another computer, if it works, the problem is your computer.

I don't know Google's DNS specifically, but if it returns a ''help page'' (like an automatic search) for non-existent DNS entries, you would be in trouble.

To circumvent the problem, you could use the HOSTS file to statically link the IP for download.windowsupdate.com to the correct IP.
