Hi,

is it possible to integrate the updates for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012? Today i've got about 600MB update on my Windows 8 laptop.

Currently, the catalog package.xml (included in wsusscn2.cab from 2012-10-09; and used by WOU) lists only KB976002 [Browser Choice] as security update for Windows 8

Hi!

Microsoft has released something like a mini service pack with the start of Windows 8 (see MSDN Blog and KB2756872). However, I don't think that this makes 500 to 600 MB. Heise writes, it would be around 170 MB.

Have you looked, what else was downloaded by Windows Update?

I would guess that Torsten Wittrock is already working on an Win 8 integration and will release it soon after the public availability of Windows 8. Depending on the catalog contents, you then could add this and other non-security packages to the repository with static links.

Hi,

yesterday i've got for my Windows 8 System the following updates: KB2712101 (Microsoft Camera Codec Pack for Windows8 x64 systems), KB2756872 (Update Windows 8 x64 systems), KB2267602 (Windows Defender definitions), KB2758994 (Internet Explorer Flash Player Windows 8 x64) and KB2716442 (Security Update SQL Server 2012 RTM).

In the update history i found a KB2751352 (Update Windows 8 x64) installed at Sept. 17th 2012.

Where do my laptop find theses infomation about the updates? And why you can't use the same?

WSUSOU uses a catalog provided by Microsoft to determine the necessary patches. This catalog does only contain security-critical patches. Everything else that's found by MS Update is unavailable, as there's no complete catalog by MS.
