With Windows 7 going out of support in Jan of 2020, i am going to create an up-to-date install image using WOU
all was going to plan, then i seen the Windows 7 convenience roll-up (kb3125574), so i wondered what would happen if i install that.
so that is what i did. i have an original Win7 install disc, then i installed SP1, the servicing stack updates and then the convenience roll-up. after that i check how many updates were reported as missing. there were about 60 odd. this is great because without the convenience roll-up its about well over 100.
so after i found how many there was after the convenience roll-up i used WOU without my custom kb to see how many was missing. i wanted to do this because i am under the impression that i download superseded kbs with my custom files.
i understand that the Windows 7 convenience roll-up (kb3125574) will contain updates that have telemetry but this is not a concern of mine because when win7 it out of support i will disconnect it from the internet
so far i have only had 1 error. that i DOTNET4.8 x64 - it does not install and just says unspecified error. i tried installing that standalone and if gives me the same error.
however when i download from MS it works
ndp48-x86-x64-allos-enu.exe

my questions are this:
does WOU use the Windows 7 convenience roll-up (kb3125574) ?
are superseded updates downloaded and installed when part of the custom lists?
