Hi
Have a stupid question.
I am currently running WSUS offline 10.X and found the newest version is 11.X
How can I update the WSUS offline update generator / update installer?
Can I keep the existing downloaded package?
Please advise
Dalai wrote:If you want to update WSUS Offline manually, you can just download and extract the new version, overwriting existing files in the process. After updating WOU itself, it's recommended to start a new download run to delete old updates and download new ones (if available).
One important thing though: Make sure that you remove the flag that the archive was downloaded from the internet from the downloaded WSUS Offline archive file before extracting it! Do that by clicking "Allow" in the archive's file properties. Alternatively you can use 7zip or WinRAR to extract the archive. If you don't do that, WSUS Offline will make some trouble because all files will get a newer modification date (with the current date+time) instead of the one from the archive. But WOU's core (wget and aria2) relies on correct modification dates.
