I thought that Windows Vista was supported with version 10.9.2 but after running updateinstaller.exe I get a message "ERROR: Medium neither supports your Windows nor your Office version". Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

This can be caused when the wrong architecture was selected in UpdateGenerator. Check Vista x64 if you use a 64 bit version and check Vista x86 if you use a 32 bit version. To determine the architecture of your Windows OS, to to Control Panel > System properties and look under System type.

Check the tab for "Legacy products". Note that Server 2008 and Vista 64bit is the same.
