Download from microsoft website which folder put them in

Postby lookoutnoob » 06.06.2015, 17:34

Hello,

I wanna download all the updates I need from the microsoft website. If I do this, in which folder do I put them in? Can I put all the Windows Updates in a folder of the client map? Can I put all sort of Windows versions in 1 single folder? Jusy like (w61) but then all the different OS's in 1.
So let me explain again: I wanna download all the OS updates of the microsoft websites, maybe 1000 updates. And I wanna put those .exe in a map, so when i run the UpdateInstaller, it will install the update on the OS.
Hope you will understand it, my english is terrible.

Thanks in advance

Please take a look at this topic:  viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4182
It lists all (?) updates for Windows/Office, which are not downloaded by wsusou automatically.

Thanks this really helps! Any idea on how to script those updates so I can download them?

.\doc\faq-enu.txt wrote:Q: Can I download/install additional patches?
A: Yes, you can adjust how the download and update scripts behave by excluding or adding patches from download or installation. For adding updates proceed as follows:

1. Adding updates to download routines

For adding an update to be downloaded, insert its download URL into the matching "StaticDownloadLinks-<platform>[-architecture>]-<language>.txt file, found in the "...\static\custom" directory. Please don't forget a trailing <CR><LF>.

2. Adding updates to installation routines

I compared all the updates out of that excel list: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?res ... &app=Excel . With the Updates I need: http://1drv.ms/1Jz662V . And only found that 370 do match, while if I add up all the updates I need I come on 3248 updates. So I miss about 2878 updates.. Any idea where those updates have gone? Are they all expired?
Here is the excel sheet with all the updates that match: http://1drv.ms/1Jz662V
I hope you understand my problem. Thanks in advance

Both of your links return an 404/file not found, so I can't take a look at the lists.

A few questions: where do the 3248 updates come from?
Maybe some of them are already replaced by others?
You may check .\exclude\ExcludeList-superseded.txt for some superseded ones after you ran wsusou once.
An official list of all updates MS with superseding relations:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894199/en-us

A quick check: update you PC using wsusou & Cababs' list, then compare against Windows Update. Except for some special hotfixes it should not return anything.

Those 3248 updates come from this site: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs ... 4?lc=en-WW This are all the windows updates that I may put on my OS. I may NOT put the windows updates on the operating system which Siemens hasnt tested yet (so all the updates of 1-2months ago). I fixed the links in my previous comment.
For example the second update in that list:KB915597 (Definition 1.197.2571.0), where do I find it? And how do I get it. And I cant find the .NET updates either in the list: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?res ... &app=Excel Any idea where I can get them?
For example I already miss the first 50 updates already: KB3020369

The Windows Defender definitions are handled using "mpas-fe.exe".

I just checked the updates, installed on my computer: 231
updates.png
(846 Bytes) Not downloaded yet

It's an up2date Windows 7 x86 (Last update 06.06.2015).
For Windows 7 MS released 1.058 updates (not counting IE9/10/11 ones, including the pre-SP1 updates; maybe I forgot some, but not 2.000).
So I think, the list you linked contains superseded updates, updates for more than one OS and lists one update more than once (e.g. KB3013126).

(11.39 KiB) Not downloaded yet

I just picked random ones and searched for them in my local update archive.

Hey Aker very clear answer again! :D
There are indeed multiple OS updates in that list.
That local update archive helps out a lot, I can almost find all the updates on there!
Do you think its possible to ONLY download all updates of http://1drv.ms/1RZ6UiW through the catalog.update.microsoft? Or is there an easier way where I just put in my KB numbers I need and it downloads it. And if I downloaded all the updates (3248), i probably downloaded some superseded, is this a problem or will windows restart a lot of times this way??? I only wanna download these updates: http://1drv.ms/1RZ6UiW because if I download updates which ARE NOT on this excel list I wont be insure anymore by Siemens and the servers wouldnt probably be compatible anymore which is a big thing.

Thanks in advance I really do appriciate it!

Would it be a possibilty to use wsusou to detect the updates, compare them against your whitelist and then install them?
I can't check, if it is possible to do so using one of wsusou's hooks, but I think, at least using a script modification, a solution like that could be possible.
