Just select Windows XP on the tab "legacy products". This will just download x86 updates.

Hello aker.

Any idea of the total size of the updates if starting from the beginning with ONLY the Windows XP selected on the "legacy products" and WITHOUT any of the OPTIONS selected on the 'Windows' tab? Anyone have a link or location to the main windows site for all XP cumulative updates? thank you.

My XP repo has about 2GB (Windows XP German).

You don't need a link to the cumulative updates as wsusou won't download superseded ones. Also the updates will be downloaded only once. If there are new updates, wsusou will just download the new ones and delete the superseded ones. wsusou will reject or ignore manually added updates, depending on your configuration, so wsusou won't be any faster, if you manually download the updates.
If you want to search for a specific update, take a look at this page:

If there are new updates
Only once more, I guess.

Note that MS puts out a DVD with security updates every month. Occasionally there will be updates even for end-of-life OS.

hello all thank you for the responses.

aker. Is your 2 gig with or without the service packs? thank you.

boco. thank you for the links. did they release one for just Xp or another site?

below are some added questions for all to answer.

The system is currently downloading to ...wsusoffline90\wsusoffline\client\wxp\enu with 181 total downloads in this folder. How far into the process are we at this point?

2nd. I see the WSUS is downloading a file for ie7. Any way to exclude all internet explorer updates. we are far past using the ie7 browser. (if so, can we do this while the program is running or must be stop it in the middle first.)

*We would just like to focus on the Win XP Pro operating system at this point.* If you can provide some insight or direction to streamline this process, that would be great.

thank you.

My win + wsus + xp subfolders are just above 800 Megs- That's with ~310 Megs for the Servicepack 3.

In my calculation dotnet, cpp, ... were included.
Just wxp, win and wsus are about 1 GB.

The iso that WSUS created for only WinXP with no options is 492 MB. Does that sound correct?

We used the WSUS 9.0 for this, I see that WSUS 9.1 is now released. Will this effect the WInXP update? Should we run it again with 9.1?

What are the following options?
'only prepare ISO/USB'
'only create collection scripts'
'clean up download directory'
'clean up target directory'

Are the explanations posted anywhere?

Thank You.
