Please install IE11 manually, reboot and try it again.
If you are logged on as WOUTempAdmin, please log off and log on with your normal user and run .\client\cmd\CleanupRecall.cmd as admin.

Hi,

To give some feedback, even after trying to manually install all updates without the offline updater it failed. My collegues and me also have this problem now on other and different computers so it seems there is a problem with Windows Update itself, not your offline updater.

From what I've read it could be a security update for Explorer 10. But I've already manually installed IE11 like you suggested, but the problem is still there.

To be continued...

I've narrowed it down to the following update: kb2887069

After disabling this update I've been able to update all our sources from several computers and laptops.

Seems that it's a known problem:

Haven't had a chance to test the offline updater without it yet. I suppose I can just delete this security update from the installation directory before using the offline updater again?

Please don't delete the file. Use .\client\exclude\custom\ExcludeList.txt instead.
(If it does not exist, just create the file and enter the kb-number with an empty line at the end.

There is already an ExcludeList.txt in .\client\exclude\ExcludeList.txt
not in .\client\exclude\custom\ExcludeList.txt

Can I put it in there or do I have to make a seperate ExcludeList.txt in .\client\exclude\custom\ExcludeList.txt?

Just create a new file .\client\exclude\custom\ExcludeList.txt and put the kb-numbers of the updates, wsusou should not inst all, in this file.

Thanks, this works! I indeed see this in the log file after installing:

Code: Select all
Info: Skipped update kb2887069 due to matching black list entry

The advantage of the custom entries is that they won't be overwritten by later versions of WSUSOU. The regular ones will be.
