First of all: I totally misunderstood the problem described in this thread and in its predecessor:

Since I always looked at "Installed Updates" but not at "View update history", I never saw the discrepancy between them, so now I say: Sorry and thanks for clarification!
As I tested yesterday, neither Dism.exe nor PkgMgr.exe will fill the history.
Anyway, I'll switch to Dism.exe (if present) because it takes .cab files directly, without the need to unpack them before.
Unfortunately I didn't find any Microsoft article explaining the difference between "Installed Updates" and "Update history", but I found opinions sustaining the idea that "Update history" logs (basically failed) attempts, where "Installed Updates" shows the real system state, so regarding our needs, "Installed Updates" should be seen as the reference, so we have a "no-prob".
