Moin!

Before I start copying anything in, is it normal that those folders would only contain a single update? Currently, the XP\client\o2k10\glb contains
mscomctlocx2010-kb2687503-fullfile-x86-glb and the o27k one contains office2007spuninstall

In the enu folders, there is also only one update in each. The o2k7 one only contains SP3 - office2007sp3-kb2526086-fullfile-en-us ; and o2k10 contains SP1, officesuite2010sp1-kb2460049-x86-fullfile-en-us. Is that normal, before I proceed?

I would have been expecting to see a lot more updates in there for Office 2007/10, after SP3 & 1 respectively.

That's correct, these are only the statically defined updates. For the dynamically determined ones, Microsoft does not make any difference between Office versions. All dynamical Office updates are in .\client\ofc.

Thanks for all the help so far.

I just tested the UpdateInstaller on W7 machine, and I don't think it worked properly. In the WSUSOfflineUpdate.log, it says some updates failed (some of the extra ones we tried to add in)

02/05/2013 16:18:45.94 - Warning: Update kb2815347 (id: e471da75-6b9c-4a58-ab27-6fd8abe7152a) not found

02/05/2013 16:18:48.36 - Info: Ending WSUS Offline Update

Also, when it rebooted, it didn't automatically log in and continue the installation, as I had expected. (I had ticked Automatic Reboot & Recall) It just showed the CTRL ALT DEL and when I logged in, it showed me the log file, but seems to have stopped now.

What should I try next, please?

EDIT - tried to attach the wsusofflineupdate.log, but couldn't.

Just to describe what I did to run the installer, in case I'm doing something wrong.

I copied the contents of the W7 client folder to the local harddrive. (eventually, I plan to have the contents of client on a DVD) and just ran UpdateInstaller.exe
I'm not doing anything with an ISO, not really sure what that option is for.

Everything you did, is correct.
Delete all files in .\client\md and disable verification in the Generator and in the Installer.

Then try it again (maybe open UpdateInstaller.ini and set the value "verify" to "Disabled")
