Way Of Working

Postby wquatan » 11.02.2013, 00:31

I would like to create a complete repository, starting with W2K and O2K.

Because different versions of WSUS Offline will be needed for that, I wonder what would be the best Way Of Working to have all data in the same repository, but without unwanted compatibility side effects between the versions of WSUS Offline.

I assume the ISO's must be made with the latest supporting version, i.e. 6.6.5. for W2K ?

Is there a way to make ISO's afterwards without changing the download-settings and starting a additional download session ?

Thanks

In the same repository won't be possible, because newer versions removed the detection and installation code for windows 2000. It would be the best way, if you create an ISO for w2k and use the newest version for all current systems.
I think "Denniss" uploaded a w2k repo to a file hoster and posted the link in this forum, so you just need to download the archive and create an ISO of it.

I never took a look at this package.
So you need to download wsusou 6.6.5 and put the file ".\static\StaticDownloadLinks-sysinternals.txt" from a newer version into that directory.

Isn't it a problem taking it from a newer version ? Was it a known issue with 6.6.5 ?

These 2 :

http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/Sigcheck.zip
http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/Streams.zip

are already in 2 other *.txt files

Thanks

Now MS uses case-sensitive servers and the old links are not compatible to that format.

I know that, and did the Files-->files changes

My Q was : is the missing file ".\static\StaticDownloadLinks-sysinternals.txt" in 665 on purpose ?
In the 69 version of that file, there are 3 lines. 2 of them are already existing in separate *.txt files (with the F-->f change applied)
Was the third line obsolete or was it an error on 665 ?

Thx

Yes, Sysinternals' tool Autologon.exe was not used until version 6.7 of WSUSOU.
