Postby rwa » 07.12.2011, 15:36

I get the error "Error: Medium neither supports your Windows nor your Office version".
I've got the system:
* Windows 7 Enterprise
* Service Pack 1
* 64-bit Operating System

When I start "..\client\cmd>call DoUpdate /nobackup /instie9 /instdotnet4 /instwd" I get the following error message:

Did you run download?
Please run UpdateGenerator and download updates for Windows 7 x64 before you try to start UpdateInstaller.
And please use UpdateInstaller.exe instead of DoUpdate.cmd.

Thanks aker for the quick feedback.

I use DoUpdate.cmd for years in command line in a OS-install-process.

And when I'm analyze UpdateInstaller.exe so this programm will use in the "Update.cmd" which use in the end "DoUpdate.cmd". Until recently this worked fine.
Thus I get the same error message when i start the UpdateInstaller.exe itself and want to update my system.

So now I'm trying to install updates with the "ISO-9660-DVD5" from Microsoft...
But I would be happier if the DoUpdate.cmd would work again.

Thx

Please check your directory ...\client\, the file ...\client\builddate.txt is missing!
Exists the directory ...\client\w61-x64\glb\?

I've just downloaded the newest version 7.2 from http://download.wsusoffline.net/wsusoffline72.zip. And there does not exist an ..\wsusoffline\client\builddate.txt. Is it correct, that the value of the file is a date like "06.12.2011"?

And now the question where i get all other folders ..\client\w61-64?

This is a tool, not a collection.
Before you can use it for updating a computer, you have to do a download run (see http://www.wsusoffline.net/docs/).

The folder .\client\w61-x64\glb will be created by UpdateGenerator.

And it is correct that the value of builddate.txt is a date.
It stands for the date the download was started the last time.

Nowadays it's wsus 10.9 that helps, over 5 years later than these posts were done. What I wanted to say is that the advise made by Markus "Just run UpdateGenerator and tick the mark shown in yellow." was the best. The second run then was successfull! Thanks.
