Failure configuring WU - Reverting changes

Hello.

I am getting this message after running WSUS Offline four times (three times reboot and recall and the last time reboot only). Installed about 130 updates+. Installed everything (IE11, MSE, OFV, etc). This is a newly Win7 x64 formatted laptop. After rebooting for last time as advised by updater, this message gets stuck in a loop...

any ideas?

I think some file may have become corrupt. Something like DataStore.edb or any other file used by WU. I am trying tomorrow to rename the softwaredistribution folder to something else and running regular Windows Update to see what happens.

EDIT: Forgot to add I was using latest 9.4.2 version.

Did you install all updates in one run ord did you reboot before?
Please post the content of C:\Windows\wsusofflineupdate.log, too.

I rebooted manually when instructed to do so... (twice of three times I think). WSUS Offline installer told me "reboot and recall update afterwards"

I did a fresh format again and it broke itself again after running regular Windows Update. I am now installing patches in small blocks.

Well. The problem solved itself by installing patches in small blocks. It wasn't WSUS Offline fault after all.

Are you running (media created by) the latest version of WSUSOU? It does update in batches, already ("Update Staging").

Yes the lasts WSOU 10.6.2 ....
This error happens even when I try to do a manual patch update.
I have run Windows Update Troubleshooter (which it says fixed some problems), but even after that I get the same update error.
Googled error message and did not find anything real useful except run Windows Update Troubleshooter which does not work for me.
I have used WSOU on these machines before as well as done manual updates (these workstations are in an area without access to an internet connection).
Any insight would be helpful ... short of reinstalling the OS.

Depending on Windows version, OS can be checked and repaired (admin console) by

sfc /scannow (all OS) and

dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (Win 8.x and up)
