W10-X640 glb always downloads all files

Every time I run WSUS update it re-downloads all the W100-X64 files. I don't have a very fast internet connection and this ends up taking many, many hours to complete, presuming it actually finishes without encountering a glitch. Bottom line is I am not having much success using WSUS as an offline update mechanism! Is there some way to stop this from happening - I have checked the glb folder and all the updates are there?

Could you post the content of .\log\download.log in [code]-tags here.

Are you sure, it redownloads the files or does it say something like "Not modified" in the command window?

How often do you start the download? (>= 1 month will redownload all updates as all updates changed).
Are you behind some proxy or caching firewall, which prevents wget from checking the change date?

I am running the download today and now it seems to be behaving. There are 3 updates to be downloaded which were not downloaded in the previous session due to the internet dropping.

How often do you start the download? (>= 1 month will redownload all updates as all updates changed).
This may be very relevant though - I am not aware that previously downloaded updates could change - is this peculiar to W100? If this happens then I guess I would see this behaviour as I don't run wsus every week....

I will monitor the behavior closely and see if this all makes sense! Thanks for the info.

Windows uses so-called Cumulative updates (CU) now. These large update packs can be as large as 1.5GiB or more, on Windows 10 64bit! And yes, they are replaced at least once every month (second Tuesday). Only the latest CU for every feature upgrade level is required. WOU will delete the superseded ones.

2019-02-12 at 10:00AM Redmond time, the cycle repeats again. Today is Patchday, again! So, wait and don't bother downloading the old packs right now.
