Postby bikergeek » 13.05.2017, 20:55

did anyone get the last updates to XP before microsoft took the service update files offline? since Windows Update is offline too i have no way of checking which update files i don't have. I've since updated to Windows 10 but may still want to install an XP build in the future. call me a die hard lol.

WU for XP still works.
For the website, use

Code: Select all
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx

Alternatively, search for "Windows Update Mini Tool".

You can, with some link path corrections, still create XP media, using WOU 9.2.1.

There are some ISOs posted in this thread. If down, please contact the posters directly.

I'm just new to this forum and I just found this thread which I'm interested in, too.

I'm a collector of old computers and some relevant software. I'm using WSUS offline quite a while but by any reason I do missed to take the last updates for OFFICE XP in time.
So when I try to use the last version of WSUS Offline (6.91) supporting OFFICE XP I get error messages only. I know that this product has been taken offline, so I wonder if someone can share me with the last WSUS ISO Image containing all OFFICE XP updates since the product was supported. I'm highly interested in getting an ENU version if possible.

I do have an official Office XP but no updates yet.

Is there someone who could help me here ?

Many thanks

Torsten (Berlin - Germany)

Hi.

This is nearly six years ago...:

Code: Select all
Version 7.0 -- 01.10.11
- Support removed for Office XP since Microsoft discontinued support for it on July 12th, 2011 (see http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=2533)

Well I know...

and because of I didn't took the (latest) ISO when they where available and containing all the updates, I hoped to find someone within this community who has an archived image and is reading my request :(

Seems to be not the case...

Neither of these work. They simple continue "searching for updates" for hours/days/and probably months.

What corrections?

The long search issue cannot be solved in WinXP by any official means, since MS never released any halfway up-to-date WU Agent or WU Client for XP. It will eventually continue.

As for the second statement, there's an update: Download and use WSUSOU 9.2.2 ESR.

Update search on wxp, even with PoS workaround, was reasonably fast until somewhere early 2017 or late 2016.
Standard Windows Update - patches just for Windoze - seems fine but with Microsoft update - patches for Office etc - the search time exploded recently. may be caused by office 2007 components like viewer or compatibility pack
