Does anyone have the XP updates disk?

Postby JomCoo » 25.02.2016, 22:16

I realize XP is discontinued by Microsoft, etc, but am trying to track down the updates for my bro. Please kindly let me know if you have this mentioned at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4196 and could most kindly send me a link to download it. I would be most grateful!

Cheers,

Jom

Currently I just have a German one, but maybe some other forum member has an English one. I'll try to create an English one as soon as I can (currently I can't).

M$ has started to remove some XP-related updates from their servers starting with February.

At the moment all four updates can still be found in the Microsoft Update Catalog (though with extended file names):
Code: Select all
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB953356
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB969084
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB2378111
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB2564958
(accessible only with Internet Explorer)

Hello all - this is my first time here, and first time using WSUOffline. Please forgive me if my questions sound stupid.

I am trying to create Windows XP installation disk and/or just an SP3 update disk (I already have original MS installation media and an SP2 iso that work fine). I downloaded 9.2.1, and it seems to be running OK, but I note that the main Windows tab lists "Windows XP/Server 2003 x64 editions" and the Legacy Products tab just lists "Windows XP". Is this simply the 64 bit version on the main tab vs the 32 bit version on the Legacy tab? I am somewhat confused because they are located on different tabs - I expected to find all XP material in the same place.

My current installation is 32 bit, so do I only select one language box from the Legacy products tab and then create the iso, or do I need something else to go with it?

Thank you for your help.

The version on the Legacy tab is the Windows XP SP3 32bit. OS or Office versions soon-to-be-removed are listed there before vanishing. Support for XP 32bit (NT 5.1 OS kernel) ended in 2014.

The Windows XP on the main tab is the 64bit edition. That version shared the OS kernel with Server 2003 64bit (NT 5.2 OS kernel) and thus had support until 2015.

To answer your question, you only need to select the XP on the Legacy page. The 64bit edition was used rarely.

I am uploading an iso of the XP x86 updates. it is 2.2GB. if you are having trouble downloading the updates you can use that.
not only does it support XP xp3 it also supports XP FLP and XP MCE.

you can file this file and other WOU related files at: http://1drv.ms/1IXSwC4
