Excluding Base Installs Rollups etc..

Excluding Base Installs Rollups etc..

Postby rjm67 » 07.03.2013, 10:53

Hi,

Is it possible to configure wsusoffline so that it doesn't download the base installs for things like IE, .Net, Silverlight & Rollups. Where I am, these shouldn't be installed via this process, but we still want to patch whatever version in installed.

Cheers in advance.

You can just uncheck Service Packs, MSSE, C++ directly in the GUI. For excluding other things like IE or Silverlight installers you would need to remove the download URLs from their respective *.txt files in the ./static directory (you need to do this for every new version that replaces these files).

Cheers,

Got virtually everything excluded now, but could I clarify how to exclude some other KB's from the download. I want to stop the following ones, but do I add these to the wsusoffline\exclude\<os>.txt files, or can I have a custom exclusion file somewhere else and if so, what is the name / location & format for it.

kb2757013,Windows Storage Server 2008 r2 Essentials Rollup 4
kb2705122,Windows Storage Server 2008 r2 Essentials Rollup 3
kb2630436,Windows Storage Server 2008 r2 Essentials Rollup 2
kb2554636,Windows Storage Server 2008 r2 Essentials Rollup 1

Ta.
