IE8 no longer available? and other KBs missing

I used WSUS back in 2013 to update XP - I still have the installation files, but do not have the installation or 'client area' files.
Running 9.2.1 now does not get IE8 (or, I think, associated KBs) as Microsoft seem to have removed it from the web source.
Can I solve this by copying back the files from my old installation folder where I have things that are no longer downloaded?
Will WSUS then see them if I build a new installation folder set?

I hope this has not already been asked / answered - I have searched but failed to find anything.

Please post the file names of all files beginning with "IE8-" in your ".\client\wxp\<your language>"-folder.

Of course, the are no IE8 files in my new client area - that is the problem. And I'm not sure there is a cllent\wxp\... folder - only a client\win.... folder
As I mentioned, IE8 does not seem to be available from Microsoft, attempting to update IE from the XP-SP3 installation of IE6 fails. That also results in a failure to load Microsoft Update (as it won't go on IE8)

In my old (Mar13) installation folder wxp\enu there are:

The file seems, not to be downloadable anymore. I just have the German version of it as a backup, this one wouldn't help you, or would it?

I use a highly modified 9.2.1 (with components from 9.3 and higher), my last download for the german version was on July 29th and I still have IE7 and 8 installation files.
Just DL'ed wxp enu and both IE installation files are present.

The first file seems to be the installer for Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP.

One file is outdated:

The update that this article describes has been replaced by a newer update. To resolve this problem, install the most current cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.

I'm not sure about the last file (kb2847204), but it seems to be a rather temporary fix.

I think, that these are all installation files for Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP, as extracted from the WSUS catalog file package.xml. A test with wget --spider shows, that all files are still available. I'm just amazed, that there are 54 different languages.

I've had another go and I think it has been successful this time.

I fear I may have failed to tick the 'Legacy XP' box on Tab3 - I'm sorry if that was the cause of the problem but I have no way of being certain!
