Problem after deleting German dotnet files

Problem after deleting German dotnet files

Postby GCRaistlin » 14.04.2019, 20:40

I don't need German installation files. I run cmd\RemoveGermanLanguageSupport.cmd. Then I discovered that German installation files are still in my WSUS Offline Updates directory. Without thinking twice I just deleted them. Now I have a problem:
Code: Select all
Verifying digital file signature of Windows Update catalog file...
Creating integrity database for Windows Update catalog file...
Verifying integrity of .NET Frameworks' installation files...
..\dotnet\NDP46-KB3045557-x86-x64-AllOS-DEU.exe: Known file not used
..\dotnet\ndp472-kb4054530-x86-x64-allos-deu.exe: Known file not used
hashdeep64.exe: Audit failed
   Input files examined: 0
  Known files expecting: 0
          Files matched: 5
Files partially matched: 0
            Files moved: 0
        New files found: 0
  Known files not found: 2

ERROR: File integrity verification failure.

I also deleted IE11 German installation files.

How to fix?

Delete wsusoffline\client\md\hashes-dotnet.txt and maybe hashes-w*-glb.txt. Then try again.

As a general hint: If you use any of the Remove*language.cmd scripts, WOU will delete the files by itself. You do not need to do that manually.
Microsoft update catalog: http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/
Windows Install media download: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media

As I said, I run the script first, but it didn't remove the files.

IIRC the files are deleted the next time DownladUpdates.cmd (UpdateGenerator) runs.

I see. It'd be better to inform the user about it.

I agree.

@WSUSUpdateAdmin: Please add a note to all Remove*.cmd scripts that the files themselves are going to be deleted during the next download run.

But they should be.

Did you disable the „Cleanup“-option?

Do you mean "Clean up target directory"? It is greyed out as I didn't enable [ ] Copy updates for selected products into directory.
