[solved] Simpler Updating to new version of the program

When one goes to create a new disk with updates, there is usually an announcement that there is a new version of WSUS.

Great!

But one does not want to redownload a gigabyte or more of data of previously downloaded Windows Updates in a new WSUS installation with its own new Windows updates folder.

There needs to be a clear way with clear instructions how to overwrite automatically the old program, so the windows updates already there do not need to be redownloaded.

This may be simple for you, but none of this is clear to this user.

Hi and welcome, Moogle,

the self update capability of WSUS Offline Update of course keeps previously downloaded MS updates, so these won't be re-downloaded after updating WOU.
The self update just overwrites the existing WOU version with a newer one "in place".

If you prefer to update this software on your own, please note viewtopic.php?f=7&t=111.
If you like to use the developer's trunk revisions inbetween releases, -Iwan- created the "Automatic Update of WSUS OU" (see viewtopic.php?f=3&t=374) for you.
