[solved] always downloading multiple languages

[solved] always downloading multiple languages

Postby kernel » 18.05.2011, 18:13

Hi there.

This is my first post.

I've been using the offline updater for a few weeks now, and I think it's great. However, I notice that although I only select English, I get a lot of DE or DEU files included. Therefore, I've always got two versions of Internet Explorer, two versions of DotNet 3.5 and 4.0, and likely some other updates.

Is there a way to not download these extra files?

Eg:

IE9-Windows7-x86-deu.exe
IE9-Windows7-x86-enu.exe

Thanks

See this post from Denniss for an explanation. If you want, remove the lines for German installers from the *-glb.txt files in the ./static subdirectory.
Microsoft update catalog: http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/
Windows Install media download: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media
